My job is such 60% of the time I am on move... I prefer public transport.... !!!Travelling doesn't give me any high ... but enriches my  experience !!!
On one of the occasions of my routine travel.... I was coming from say point X going to certain point Z.. in train.
My fellow passenger's were bankers...

Its a general perception that "Govt.Servant's" are in-efficient... be it in any sector!!
They are complacent... come by 10 o'clock to office... take frequent tea-breaks and then... wrap the days work and go... whoosh!!!

I was not participating in converstion just listening.. against my basic nature..
They were interacting amongst themselves and some fellow passenger's  incidently they too were banker's but from Private sector.

As usual our perception that "Private" sector banker's are doing more job... and effeicient!!

Here the hard fact comes... against all odd's the Govt. officials are now working on same lines of
Private sector -- perfrom or perish. The vacancies are filled will not with "right qualification" candidates... Engineers are working as accountants.... but they are working more than their private counter parts with oh not so handsome perks... Gone are the days of "secured" job  and pension after retirement!!!

They are posted in remote areas... a branch of bank is having only three officials -- branch manager , clerk and one peon.. and they handle a clientele of more than 25000 account holders. The branch manager doubles or triples up the role of "cashier, teller,PR" and so on...

The private sector banks are now opening with three officials in the circle of 6km!!!  That means that in city of 2lakhs population resinding in an area of 15km  will have nearly three Branches of that particular bank!!  Tough competition to maintain the ROI(Return on investment).

They were talking of a term " Social banking" .. people invest in Govt. banks on trust something which I secrectly agree to!!

My destination came... train chugged away....

Next time... something more to share...
